It’s a Beautiful, Wonderful World
“It’s a beautiful, wonderful world,
A world of wonder for all to share;
Let us walk together, hand in hand,
Spreading peace and friendship throughout the land…”
Inspired by a visit to botanical gardens in California, this song is intended to reflect the beauty of nature around us, and to suggest that we should live in harmony, breaking through the barriers that can so often divide us.
In its simplest form it is a unison song, which can be performed by a community chorus or a children’s choir, but optional harmony (SATB) is given in places for a more advanced group — although this is fairly simple, even though it requires some divisi. There is a reprise of the first verse, a tone higher, with an optional descant.

| Sanford Dole’s Ave Maria is a harmonized setting of the Gregorian chant antiphon. The soprano part is a metrical version of the Gregorian chant melody.
